BML Enhances Online Education at Kudakudhinge Hiya with a Donation of 5 Computer Systems

For Bank of Maldives Plc (BML), this week has been all about giving back to the community. On Tuesday, the Bank announced via social media that they have completed deliveries 65 motorized wheelchairs to support persons with mobility impairments across the country. The very next day, a donation of MVR 50,000 was made to Family Legal Clinic, a pro-bono legal service provider. Yesterday, the Bank was pleased to announce their donation of 5 computer systems to Kudakudhinge Hiya in Vilimale’, a state-run orphanage.

In addressing the news, the Bank noted that education was a key focus area under the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility. At the moment, the pandemic has increased the need of easy access to online learning methods which the Bank highlights to be one of the reason they have chosen to donate the computer systems. They are certain that this will help the children get better access to learning to help develop their capabilities and increase social participation.

As part of the same initiative, the Bank had donated educational tools to schools in ten island to support students with special education need, earlier this year.

Bank of Maldives Plc is the largest local bank operating in the country presently.
