MIRA’a VaaruPay Expands by Facilitating ‘m-Faisaa’ by Ooredoo Maldives Option for Taxpayers

VaaruPay is an online tax payment service offered by the national taxation authority, Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA). It is easily accessible to all taxpayers through their website and mobile application. Taxpayers can complete taxation transactions for vehicle annual fees, parking violations, traffic violations, sea vessel annual fees and fines, company annual fees and fines, Zakat al-mal, visa fee, airport security pass payments and payments incurred by the violation of rules and regulations imposed by Health Protection Agency and payments incurred by the violation of rules and regulation related to the environment on VaaruPay.

Yesterday, an agreement was signed between MIRA and local telecommunication company, Ooredoo Maldives for the purpose of allowing customers to make payments on VaaruPay via Ooredoo Maldives’ digital payment solution ‘m-Faisaa’. Accordingly, their customers can now complete digital payments through the ‘m-Faisaa’ option instantly. They will also receive real-time status updates.

Prior to this, the biggest competitor of the telecom company, Dhiraagu, has first initiated the taxation payments on VaaruPay through their own digital payment solution. ‘DhiraaguPay’.
