Following the General Trend of the Year Outbound Travel Roadshow India 2020 Event Goes Virtual

The Outbound Travel Roadshow India is organized by Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions Private Limited and is the only multi-destination travel trade event held in India. It provides a platform allowing buyers and suppliers catering travel services and products to connect together in shaping the future of the industry through networking and education.

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) in collaboration with fellow tourism industry partners showcased Maldives as a holiday destination at the event.

This year, the event took place as a one-day virtual event for a period of three hours. Participants were provided with the opportunity to address the audience in a one-on-one meeting setting which was pre-scheduled. A virtual room was facilitated for the presentation of products to reach out to all buyers simultaneously. Most importantly, the event being held virtually helped all participants break the geographical barrier in play due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Apart from participation in this event, MMPRC has launched marketing campaigns and activities focus on the Indian tourist market as it being the first country to resume travel to Maldives and the gradual increase of flight frequencies post the border re-opening. Accordingly, two marketing campaigns were launched; one being to promote Maldives as a honeymoon destination in partnership with the India’s largest wedding network, Wedding Sutra and the second one being a nationwide radio campaign in India promoting Maldives as the ‘sunny side of life’. Apart from this, MMPRC has also hosted an Indian Media Team which resumed Fam Trip to Maldives on effect.
