New Cabinet Ministers and Policy Secretary Elected by President on Wednesday

An official ceremony was held in the President’s Office yesterday morning to commemorate the appointment of two new Cabinet Ministers and a Policy Secretary to the Government. 

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan to the position of Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture. He was previously serving as the Minister of Environment.  

The second Cabinet Minister appointed is Ms. Aminath Shauna who is elected as the Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Technology which was newly formed today. Her last position was that of Policy Secretary of the President's Office. 

The President also filled the position of Policy Secretary with Mr. Ahmed Hamdhan who had been serving as an undersecretary at the President’s Office till his appointment.
