The Inauguration of Teaching of Quran Program to Maldivians Living in Abroad

During a ceremony held on Monday, the Teaching of Quran program to the Maldivians living abroad was inaugurated by the Vice President Faisal Naseem. The purpose of this program is to assist Maldivian living abroad to attain a certificate in reciting and understanding of Quran as it has been difficult for them to do in the past. Maldivians living in Malaysia, Sri Lanka and India has participated in this program so far. That is 66 participants from Malaysia, 25 from Sri Lanka and 8 from India.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali highlighted that teaching Quran is one of the most beneficial act in the religion of Islam. In this regard, he extended his gratitude to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Vice President Faisal Naseem for assisting in enhancing the lives of locals living abroad through a chance of learning how to recite the Quran.

The Vice President added to this in his speech highlighting that it is an important goal of the government to improve religious programs and to provide with the best Islamic Knowledge to the people of Maldives. Also, he urged to carry on with good deeds in this Holy month of Ramadan.
