The state-owned utility company Fenaka Corporation has emerged as title winners of two leading awards in the Utility/Energy category of the 2021 International Finance Awards. This win is a significant achievement in the corporation’s efforts in becoming the benchmark utility provider in the Maldives.
The International Finance Awards honors industry talents on a global scale for their skills, industry net worth and capability in their respective platforms. The Utility/Energy category of the awards recognize and reward path-breaking and cutting-edge initiatives by leading companies that ensure quality utilities are provided to its customers.
Fenaka’s L.Gan Interconnection Project grabbed the title for the Best Green Project. This project established last year was a major initiative by Fenaka Corporation to upgrade the 3 out-dated powerhouses on the island to a modern, more efficiently performing solution through a central power grid with one powerhouse to power the whole island of L. Gan. Through the initiative, residents of the islands were rid of toxic fumes, noise pollution and decreasing quality of life.
Fenaka also won the Best Green Initiative award. The corporation has been continuously working on the upgrade of powerhouses on local islands and contributing to the increase in capacity of the latest advancement deployed in the utility provision in the country.
