SilkAir has extended their published flight schedules for October, November and December of this year. The Airline has increased their flight frequency and have included additional destinations in their present network for this time period.
According to the schedule, SilkAir will be reinstating flights Maldives effective from 1st December. The Airline will be operating twice a week to Maldives; one being on every Tuesday and the other being on every Saturday through its Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Prior to closing of the Maldivian borders, the airline was operating daily flights to Maldives. The extended schedule is subject to change whereas they will be informing any changes via email or text.
The Airline has further stated that they would be strictly following travel restrictions imposed internationally, and also nation-wide by countries listed on their network.
The Ministry of Tourism addressed the rumors regarding creation of a ‘travel bubble’ between Singapore and Maldives. They confirmed that the matter is at a discussion stage as of yet. The idea behind creation of a ‘travel bubble’ is to exclusively allocate some resorts in Maldives to just Singaporeans tourists.
SilkAir is a regional wing of Singapore Airlines. Prior to closing of the borders, Singapore Airlines was also operating to Maldives.
