With The Beginning Of Quarantine-Free Travel, HPA Lists Islands With COVID-19 Positivity Rate Above 5%

The day is finally here! After almost a year people will finally be allowed to travel from one island to another without having to quarantine subject to having passed two-weeks after completing both doses of the vaccine.  

Prior to this, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) had publicized guidelines regarding this which directs that people travelling to islands in which the amount of people vaccinated from the eligible population is lesser than 60% - the provision of negative PCR test will be required if such an individual is travelling from island with over 5% of positive cases to an island without as much cases.  

Accordingly, as the quarantine-free travel comes to effect today, HPA has publicized the list of islands with a COVID-19 positivity rate of five percent and above. The list includes Male’ Region, Lh. Naifaru, B. Maalhos, Th. Veymandoo, K. Huraa, K. Dhiffushi and ADh. Maamigili.  
Individuals travelling to an island of which’s at least 60% of the eligible population has administered both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine will not have to quarantine.  

Moreover, individuals arriving to Maldives from abroad, inclusive of tourists, are also no longer required to undergo quarantine nor present a negative PCR test subject to that they have completed both doses of the vaccine two weeks prior.
