MIRA Makes Its Vehicle Fee Digital Sticker Reprint Service Easily Accessible To Taxpayers Through VaaruPay

According to local taxation authority, Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), taxpayers can now receive Vehicle Fee digital sticker reprint service through VaaruPay – an online tax payment service offered by MIRA, which is easily accessible to taxpayers via their website and mobile application.

To obtain the service, you can press this link and just enter your identity card number and vehicle registration number to get the sticker. However, the authority notes that stickers will not be issued for payments made prior to 1st January 2021.

Vehicle fee is levied under the Law No. 5/2009 on every vehicle operated by an engine that is registered at the Transport Ministry. This yearly fee is based on the engine capacity of the vehicle. An annual fee sticker will be issued when vehicle fee is paid. This sticker will have the date by which the next vehicle fee should be paid. At the start of this year, MIRA had digitalized this sticker – getting with time. Accordingly, authorities can now easily check the authenticity of the stickers simply by scanning the QR code on them.
