One of the recent distresses of those living in the Male’ region has been extremely long queues at vaccination centers as the operational hours of the centers had been shortened for the holy month of Ramadan - being from 9pm to 11pm. Due to high turnout of people to get their jabs, HPA has a couple of days ago also extended the operations hours from 9pm to 11:45pm – which however, did not lessen the queues.
Hence, the Authority had introduced a mean to check the queue status online by scanning the QR code on their tokens for people attending to receive vaccine in an effort to eliminate the long queues. They have added on to this by now allowing to queue online for vaccination through the QueueBee application.
Accordingly, an allocated number of tokens will be issued through the app from 9pm onwards for three vaccinations centers being:
- Social Center (500 tokens)
- National Art Center (300 tokens)
- Hulhumale’ Vaccination Center (200 tokens)
These three vaccination centers all administers the second dose of the Covishield vaccine. In addition to getting your token online, you can also check your queue status from the QueueBee app – eliminating the need to physically queue at the vaccination centers.
