In an official statement by the President’s office sent yesterday, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family of late Naila Ibrahim Kaleyfaanu. The President extended deep sympathies on behalf of the first couple to the berieved family. He further added that the he heard the news of her passing away with a heavy heart and noted her invaluable contributions to Aminiya School and stated that she had been a role model for generations of students.
Late Naila Ibrahim Kaleyfaanu was a long-serving teacher at Aminiya School since December 28, 1971. For 26 years that followed, she spent tireless years educating, inspiring and shaping the future of thousands of students who today mourn her loss.
Her absence is strongly felt in the Maldivian education sector, which has seen her excel from being a history teacher, social studies teacher, to taking on the positions of headteacher, secondary supervisor, and supervisor roles. She had also previously served as a supervisor
in Ghiyasuddin International School and as the assistant director of the National Library.
Her immense contributions were extended to the society as well, becoming the founder of Society for Health Education. Her skills can be seen professionally in the kitchen, where she has published cook books that are looked up to even today.
Late Naila Ibrahim Kaleyfaanu passed away at 72, after prolonged illness. May Allah (sw) grant her the highest rankings in Jannat.
