HPA Extends Operational Hours Of Vaccination Centers In Male’ Area Due To High Turnout Of People

For the holy month of Ramadan, Health Protection Agency (HPA) had made changes to the operational hours of vaccination centers in Male’ Area – shortening it to just two hours, being from 9pm to 11pm. However, due to the high turnout of people to get their jabs, HPA has announced the extension of operational hours from 9pm to 11:45pm.

Currently, there are 7 vaccination centers in the Male’ Area. They are:

- Social Center

- National Art Gallery

- Vilimale' Youth Center

- Hulhumale’ Vaccination Center

- Senahiya

- People’s Majilis

- Tree Top Hospital

Those getting their first dose of the vaccine will only be able to get it at Tree Top Hospital – which is the Chinese-made Sinopharm vaccine. Those receiving their second dose of the Covishield vaccine can receive their jabs at the remaining six vaccinations centers.

Maldives kicked off its nationwide vaccination drive on 1^st of February. Under this program over 270,000 people have received their first dose of the vaccine whereas as over 25,000 people have received their second dose.
