Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) is the first and longest serving public company in the nation who have position themselves as the leading civil and marine constructor in the country. In this capacity, the company continues to successfully undertake multiple projects simultaneously across all parts of the Maldives – even with the difficulties posed by the ongoing pandemic.
On Thursday, the construction giant has been contracted to another project by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure: Road Development Project at Haa Alifu Hoarafushi. The agreement pertaining to the project was signed by COO Shahid Hussain Moosa on behalf of the company, whereas Permanent Secretary of the Ms. Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed, signed on behalf of the Ministry.
This project is worth MVR 71.90 million and must be completed with 470 days. It will involve work on the construction of 11 new asphalt roads with total length of 5303m; 25,909sqm of sub-base preparation, 25,909sqm of ABC works; 11,113.80sqm of footpath preparation, design and construction of a stormwater management system, installation of road markings, speed breakers and streetlight.
