Qatar Airways Rewarding Teachers with 21,000 Complimentary Tickets

Since 1994, World Teachers’ Day is commemorated annually on every 5th of October, co-convened in partnership with United Nations International Children’s Education (UNICEF), International Labor Organization and Education International. The date marks the anniversary of the adoption 1966 ILO/UNESCO recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers, setting benchmarks regarding the rights and responsibilities of teachers and standards for their initial preparation and further education, recruitment, employment, and teaching and learning conditions.

In celebration of World Teacher’s Day 2020, renowned multiple award-winning airline, Qatar Airways, has announced that they will be giving away complimentary economy class return tickets to 21,000 teachers. All teaching professionals from over 75 countries the airline presently operates from are eligible to register and receive a ticket; an opportunity to travel to a destination of own choice from over 160 destinations around the world included under the Qatar Airways’ current network.

Teachers successfully registering will be awarded economy class return tickets and a voucher allowing 50% off from one future return ticket from the airlines they could use for themselves, a family member or a friend  which will be valid for travel until 30th September 2021.
Registrations will be open starting on 5th October from 4am (Doha Time) and will close on 8th October at 4am (Doha Time). A limited number of promo codes will be allocated daily for each country, staggered over the three days of the registration period, to ensure fairness and transparency of this offer. Registration can be completed here.

Qatar Airways has stated that this giveaway is conducted to thank teaching professionals for their vital work on facilitating education to young people amidst the challenges faced due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
