MTCC Commences Physical Works On Three Projects At Meemu Atoll

At two separate ceremonies held today – one in the island of Mulah and one in the island of Muli – Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has marked the commencement of physical works on three projects at Meemu Atoll. The details of all three projects are detailed below.

Shore Protection Project At Mulah

This project was scored by MTCC on 29th March 2021 and is valued at MVR 17.66 million. It will involve work on the construction of a 411.90m geo bag revetment that must be completed within 105 days.

MIFCO Port Development Project At Mulah

The contract for this project was signed back on 11th February 2021 and is valued at MVR 56.13 million. Within a period of 300 days MTCC must complete work on reclamation operations of 22,240cbm; dredging and excavation operations of 8,640cmb; construction of a 160m quay wall; a 68.90m revetment and installation of 3,200sqm pavement.

Meemu Airport Development Project At Muli

The project that is worth MVR 221.733 million was awarded to MTCC on 28th February 2021. The project will involve work on reclamation operations of 14 hectares; coastal protection operations of 1,812m; construction of a 1200m x 30m runway; taxiway and an apron which must be completed within a period of 365 days.
