Three Women Takes The Rank Of Superintendent For The First Time In The History Of Maldives Police Service

For the first time in the history of Maldives Police Service, three female officers have been promoted to the rank of Superintendents of Police – Fathimath Nashwa, Mariyam Azma and Izmia Zahir – at a special function held on 4th April. Prior to their promotion, all three officers were ranked as Chief Inspector of Police.

Superintendent of Police Fathimath Nashawa has been in the service for over 25 years and is currently serving as the Division Commander of Upper North Police.

Superintendent of Police Mariyam Izmia has also been in the service for over 25 years in which her expertise lay in the field of investigation. She is currently serving as the Division Commander of Central Police.

Superintendent of Police Izmia Zahir has served in multiple roles over her 16 years in the force – including the role of the Spokesperson of MPS. She is currently serving as the Head of Organizational Reform Department.

The achievement of these three officers has brought hope and inspiration to other female police officers.
