At a virtual meeting held today, the Vice President Faisal Naseem along with relevant stakeholders held discussions pertaining to the latest preparations to establish a Child Development Centre in Dhamana Veshi – the Urban Primary Health Centre in Addu City. In attendance to the meeting was the Minister of Education Dr Aishath Ali, Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services Aisha th Mohamed Didi, Special Advisor on Social Policy at the President's Office Dr Mustafa Lutfi, in addition to respective parliamentarians and senior officials of other relevant agencies.
During the meeting, the Vice President stressed upon the administration’s goals to establish comprehensive child development services across the nation. In line with, he detailed out the plans and efforts by the government to enhance and strengthen regional healthcare services.
Representatives from Addu Equatorial Hospital who took part in the meeting notes that the new centre would feature an array of medical assistance, including speech therapy, occupational therapy and a residential clinical psychologist.
Noting the recent establishment of a similar center in Hulhumale’ Hospital, the Vice President firmly assured the support of relevant authorities regarding the new centre's development and operations.
