Bank of Maldives Plc. (BML) has issued a notice today advising customers to stay vigilant to prevent fraud as a number of customers continue to receive phone calls from parties impersonating the Bank.
Through these calls, customers are often requested to share their account or card details in addition to being asked to transfer money to another account due to system errors and such. The Bank, hence stresses that they would never call customers to request for personal information nor ask them to transfer money to another account at any given circumstance. Moreover, the Bank will never contact customs via a mobile number.
Because this has been such a common trend as of late, the Bank once again advises all their customers to be cautious and to not respond to these calls. They also request customers to share their personal details or account details with a third party.
If a customer has received a call from someone claiming to be the Bank whereas a situation arises where card details may have been compromised – kindly contact the Bank as soon as possible at 3330200.
