Submissions for the ‘National Award for Public Service’ Nominations to Open in May

In an official statement by The National Awards Committee yesterday, it has been announced that nominations for the newly-introduced 'National Award for Public Service' will be open for submission on May 5, 2021. Applications will be accepted until August 5, 2021. 
 
'National Award for Public Service' award was introduced as a token of appreciation of individuals who have served the nation for over 35 consecutive years. It was announced by President Ibrahim MOhamed Solih in a cabinet meeting held in February this year. He stated that it is his intention to recognize the many individuals who have contributed significantly to the public over tireless years of service for a long period of time.  

The Awards Committee will consider the quality of the work of the nominees, as well as their contributions towards the development of their respective fields. Deemed as equivalent to the prestigious National Award of Honour, this award will also recognize the individual achievements of the nominees.
