Ministry of Health Plans to Develop Top Notch Hospitals in 12 Islands

In a ceremony held at the Ministry of Health yesterday, Parliament Member for the Sh. Milandhoo Constituency, Mr. Ali Riza has handed over blueprints and BOQ documents for 12 new hospital buildings to the Minister of Health, Mr. Ahmed Naseem.   

The project is part of the upgrade planned for the existing health centers on 12 islands to be replaced with brand new hospital buildings. The islands are HA. Ihavandhoo, HA. Hoarafushi, HDh. Hanimaadhoo, Sh. Milandhoo, N. Velidhoo, N. Kendhikulhudhoo, B. ThulhaadhooLhHinnavaru, F. Nilandhoo, Th. Vilifushi, ADh. Maamigili, and GDhGaddhoo.  

In the ceremony, Minister Naseem thanked MP Ali Riza for having made the huge contribution to the project free of charge. According to the ministry, most of the preliminary work on design and estimate of expenses for the construction have been evaluated as of now.  

The ministry has planned a number of similar upgrades to the health centers on islands across the archipelago.
