ADK Hospital Lightens The Burden On The Public By Further Decreasing The Price Of COVID-19 PCR Testing

Yesterday, ADK Hospital was pleased to announce its decision to decrease the pricing of COVID-19 PCR Testing – for a second time.

Previously the pricing for locals and work permit holders to do the test was MVR 1200 which has now been decreased to MVR 700. On the other hand, tourists can now get the test done for USD 45 and opposed to USD 80.

According to ADK Hospital, the decision was made as a measure to lighten the financial burden on people during these challenging times. They further add that it is now easier to acquire PCR tests from the global market as there has been a decrease in the prices which should also be reflected in the prices available for the Maldivians as well.

Apart from ADK Hospital, Mediflex Laboratory located in Male’ City has also decreased the price of their PCR testing.

PCR testing is considered the “gold standard” in COVID-19 detection. Amidst the pandemic, it is a prerequisite for traveling within and out of the country in many parts of the world – including the Maldives.
