National Centre for the Arts (NCA) has announced that they have opened applications for interested local artists to take part in the ‘SAARC Festival of Traditional Instrumental Music and Workshop 2021’.
SAARC Festival of Traditional Instrumental Music and Workshop 2021 is scheduled to be held virtually on 10th April 2021 at Bhutan. The event categorized into two segments. Six slots are opened for local artists in the first segment or the ‘Pre-recorded Performance’ whereas ten slots are open for local artist in the second segment which is an online workshop.

The music of South Asia has been embraced by many traditional instruments portraying unique characteristics yet reflecting diverse styles languages and relevance within each culture. Thus, this Festival is aimed at celebrating and highlighting the evolution of these traditional musical instruments and how music from the world often bears resemblance to that which flourishes in the entire region.
