Uza. Khadeeja Naeem Appointed As member To The Tax Appeal Tribunal

Today, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Uza. Khadeeja Naeem a Legal Member of the Tax Appeal Tribunal.

She earned her Master of Laws (LLM) in Business Law from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU).

Prior to her appointment, Uza. Khadeeja Naeem has worked as the legal office at the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC), Deputy State Attorney at the Attorney General’s Office in addition to several senior posts at the Elections Commission (EC). She also served as a lecturer at the Faculty of Sharia and Law of the Maldives National University (MNU). 

The Tax Appeal Tribunal exists for the purpose of adjudicating matters related to the Tax Administration Act or any other Taxation Acts. It has the power to review and deliberate, as it deems appropriate on matters determined by the Tax Administration Act or any other law to be adjudicated by the Tribunal.

Whereas the Tribunal is composed of five members, the President with the approval of the People’s Majlis appoints members for a term of five years.
