MTCC Commences Physical Work On Phase Two Of The Kaafu Himmafushi Harbour Development Project

On 15th February, Maldives Transporting and Contracting Company (MTCC) mobilized the project site for the second phase of a harbor development project in the island of Himmafushi in Kaafu Atoll. Yesterday, they were pleased to announce that physical work on the project has now commenced.

Phase 2 of the Harbor Development Project at Himmafushi in Kaafu Atoll was scored by the construction giant on 29th December 2019, from the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. This project which is valued at MVR 24.6 million comprises work involving the construction of 38-meter breakwater, 172-meter key wall, 287-meter revetment, construction of a ramp, construction of 772 square meter pavement, 12 mooring buoys, harbor dredging of 18,800 cubic meters, channel dredging of 9,900 cubic meters and installation of 4 navigation lights and 11 harbor lights. Work is expected to be completed within 365 days.
