As there are countless individuals who have served the nation and continue to do so for many years, their services must be publicly recognized and celebrated on a national scale. In order to achieve this, the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has come to a decision to confer a new national-level award to recognize and honor these individuals.
He disclosed his decision during a cabinet meeting held yesterday afternoon at the President’s Office. Accordingly, the award will be conferred beginning Independence Day this year for those who have served the nation for 35 years and more in various capacities.
It will be an award equivalent to a National Award of Honor that shall be reliant upon the criteria assigned by the National Awards Committee – one that is put together by the President to take charge of handing work regarding all national-scaled awards being conferred.
The criteria for the award along with other relevant details pertaining to it will be shared with the Ministries and other government institutions for their comments at a later time.
