Minister Of External Affairs of the Republic of India Has Arrived In Town For An Official Visit

This afternoon, the Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, His Excellency Dr. S. Jaishankar has arrived in the Maldives for a two-day official visit on the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Shahid. This marks his second visit to the Maldives in the capacity of the Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India. The first was to attend the 5th Indian Ocean Conference in September 2019.

During this visit, several Memorandums of Understanding and Agreements are to be signed. His Excellency Dr. S. Jaishankar will also carry out courtesy calls on the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed. Separate meetings with be held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Defense whereas a joint meeting will be held with the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Economic Development, and the Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.

Apart from this, His Excellency Dr. S. Jaishankar will inaugurate several projects undertaken through financial assistance from the Indian Government and will also stand witness to the exchange of several Agreements and MoUs between two countries.
