Via social media yesterday, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed that they had signed an agreement with the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MNPHI) for implementing the construction of harbor extension and jetty at Dhihdhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll. This agreement was signed during a ceremony held at MNPHI on 11th February at which the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Shahid Hussain Moosa, signed on behalf of MTCC whereas the Ministry was represented by the Director-General, Ms. Fathimath Shaana Farooq.
The project comprises of work on the dredging and excavation operations of 78,000cbm; construction of a 616m breakwater; a 185m revetment; a 326m quay wall; installation of 4,320sqm harbor pavement and finally, installation of harbor lights. Whilst the project is valued at MVR 69.87 million – MTCC must complete it within a period of 365 days.
