Air Vistara To Commence Operations To Maldives This March

India’s best airline, Air Vistara announced that they will be commencing direct flights to Male’ City from Mumbai starting from 3rd March 2021. According to their social media, return fairs will start at INR 17699 all-in. You can now book your flights on their website. With this, the total number of international airlines in operation to the Maldives will total up to 28.

Air Vistara is a joint venture of Tata Sons Private Limited and Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA). In 2015, Vistara started its operations with a maiden flight from Delhi to Mumbai. The airline now serves 40 destinations with over 200 flights daily operated by a fleet of 45 aircraft including 35 Airbus A320, 2 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, 2 Airbus A321neo, and 6 Boeing 737-800NG aircraft.

Since the border reopening last year, India has been amongst the top ten markets in terms of arrivals to Maldives. Hence, the beginning of operations to Maldives by Air Vistara is projected to further boost arrivals from the market. Since the start of the year, over 19k tourists have been welcomed to Maldives from India. Moreover, at the end of last year, India remained as the top market to the island destination.
