No Plastic Maldives is an NGO based in the Maldives that is working towards educating, advocating and raising awareness of plastic pollution and single-use plastic.
During a special general meeting of the members which was held virtually last night, the NGO has elected Board Members. As per the internal guidelines of No-Plastic Maldives, voting shall be held only for the specific positions of the board where more than one member is contesting for. Hence, with only more than one member contesting for the position of Secretary, voting was underway last night only for this.
Here are the names and the designations of the newly elected Board Members.

Vice President: Shamman Shakir
Secretary: Hanaan Saeed
Treasurer: Nuzha Naashid
Board Members: Ezgi Christel Mentes & Mohamed Adnaan
During the past year, No-Plastic Maldives has carried out various activities in line with their mission. In the future, the organization hopes to collaborate with individuals, communities and various other stakeholders to further promote awareness regarding the dangers of using plastic. Accordingly, for this year, the NGO has numerous activities planned with focus on the government’s initiative to phase out single-use plastic from the Maldives.
