Maldives State Shipping Turns One, Yay!

Today, Maldives State Shipping (MSS) marks one year since its registration. Launched in 2020, they are the newest shipping and logistics company in the country offering an extensive international liner shipping service. The company was established to conquer the challenges faced by Maldivian traders and other businesses in the absence of a reliable national shipping line and also to create employment opportunities for locals in industry other than the tourism sector.

Presently, MSS provides NVOCC, Freight Forwarding, Liner Service & Feeder Service. One year in existence, yet the Company has achieved remarkable strides. These include the introduction of direct cargo ferry services between the northern island, Kulhudhuhfushi and the Cochi, India and also between Addu, & Huvadu Atoll and Tuticorin, India,

Our island nation has a proud history of once owning the largest shipping fleet in this region. Therewith, MMS’ current aim is to recreate once again and reclaim the title in the region successfully. The Maldivian flag will once again wave proudly on vessels as they traverse across the globe.

MSS is owned by the State Trading Organization Plc (STO), which is one the most successful public companies in the country.
