The flag carrier of India, and a member of Star Alliance, Air India operates one of the youngest fleets in the world. They serve more than 100 cities, both international and domestic wise.
After a temporary cessation of operations to the Maldives due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the airline resumed flights to the island nation on 25th August 2020. At present, they conduct direct flights to Maldives just from Trivandrum. Although a few days back, Air India was pleased to announce that starting from 5th February onwards, the airline will be recommencing direct flights from Maldives to Bangalore and New Delhi as well.

Maldives and India have established an Air Bubble between the two countries, meaning flights are arranged in this safe corridor, provided by the local authorities, where tourists can travel straight to the respective destination without the requirement of a quarantine period.
