Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Plc (MTCC) has already been contracted to various projects within one month into this year. The company happily took on additional three projects yesterday, contracted to them by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. In this regard, a signing ceremony was held yesterday at the Ministry. Following are the details of all three projects.
Implementing Coastal Protection At Nellaidhoo In Haa Dhaalu Atoll
This project is valued at MVR 19.8 and is set to be completed within 250 days. Work under the project will consist of the construction of an 870m rock boulder revetment along the shoreline to protect erosion.
Land Reclamation And Shore Protection At Bodufolhudhoo in Alif Alif Atoll
The project is valued at MVR 78.5 million and is scheduled to be completed with 365 days. Work under the project will involve reclamation operations of 8 hectares; construction of a 1052m rock boulder revetment; a 180m breakwater and 110m groynes.
Land Reclamation And Shore Protection At Ungoofaaru In Raa Atoll
This project is stated to cost MVR 75.3 million and is scheduled to be completed with 240 days. It will comprise of work involving reclamation operations of 10 hectares; construction of an 1150m rock boulder revetment and construction of a 75m groynes.
MTCC boasts of being the nation’s leading marine and civil constructor. As they celebrated their 40th-anniversary last year, it was also deemed as the most successful year in the company’s history, having completed a whopping amount of 34 projects.
