Ooredoo Fintech Offers Free International Transfers for Cyclone-Affected Countries

Ooredoo Fintech has also launched a special humanitarian offer where customers can do international money transfers using mFaisaa at no charge during the whole of December 2025. The proposal to Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, which have been greatly affected by the recent cyclone, makes the task of people in the Maldives easier to help family and communities in other countries.
Through the international money remittance service of mFaisaa which is enabled by MoneyGram, customers are able to send money in minutes and they do this straight using their phones. The completely virtualized process does not involve any forms, physical visits and transfers can be tracked immediately using the mFaisaa app, which allows them to send up to USD 10,000 per day, which will provide them with more flexibility in such a critical period.
According to Ooredoo Maldives CEO & Managing Director, Khalid Al-Hamadi, a great number of Maldivians are closely connected to the countries that were affected. The initiative will facilitate the process of assisting the loved ones in a tough time by eliminating transfer charges and offering real-time and secure digital remittances.
The initiative underscores the continued efforts of Ooredoo to leverage on digital financial services towards advancing inclusivity, connectedness, and significant social transformation in the region.
