Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital has begun surgeries at its newly launched Hybrid Operating Theatre located on the 11th floor of Dharumavantha Hospital.
The hospital announced the start of operations through a post on X. The advanced facility includes a Cath Lab and will support neurological, cardiac, and peripheral interventional procedures.
According to IGMH, the theatre is designed to improve access to world class care within the country. The facility comes into use six years after it was first planned.
Dharumavantha Hospital was developed during the administration of former president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom as part of a project worth over MVR 2 billion.
Currently, several floors of Dharumavantha Hospital are used by IGMH to provide various healthcare services.
