A major new residential development, “Blue Lagoon,” was officially launched last night in Malé, marking another step forward in the growing real estate sector in the Maldives. The project is being built by India’s VCL Group and will be located in Hulhumalé Phase 2.
The inauguration ceremony was held at JEN Hotel and attended by Higher Education Minister Dr. Ali Haidar, Indian High Commissioner G. Balasubramanian, and VCL Group Chairman Varinder Kumar Garg.
The “Blue Lagoon” apartments are designed by renowned Indian architect Hafeez Contractor and are aimed at bringing spacious, high-comfort living to one of the fastest-growing residential areas in the Maldives.
The two-tower development will offer a range of luxury features including full natural lighting in each apartment, rooftop swimming pools, gardens, and a barbecue area. It will also include shared amenities like a daycare center, children’s play area, gym, theatre, multi-purpose hall, and a 15,000 square foot clubhouse.
Each tower will have six elevators and private lobbies to ensure both convenience and privacy. Once complete, Blue Lagoon is expected to become one of the tallest residential buildings in the Maldives.

VCL Group is also the contractor behind the 11 towers in the Fahi Dhiriulhun housing project in Hulhumalé Phase 2, making it a familiar name in the Maldives’ construction industry.
