Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced that ATM services will be available on every island in Baa Atoll by the end of this week, continuing its nationwide expansion efforts.
As of yesterday, self-service banking ATMs have been launched in three islands. The remaining seven islands—Goidhoo, Fehendhoo, Hithaadhoo, Dhonfanu, and Maalhos among them are set to receive ATM services in the coming days.
This rollout is part of BML’s "ATMs for the Whole Country" initiative, which aims to make banking more accessible in all inhabited islands. The launch was officially inaugurated by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, who started his provincial tour this morning.
BML has installed 47 new ATMs across the Maldives so far in 2025. Speaking on the expansion, BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said the move marks a key step in providing equal banking access to all citizens, regardless of where they live.
