MMA Awards 15 Scholarships in Islamic Finance

The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has awarded scholarships to 15 candidates to pursue Master's-level studies in Islamic Finance.

The official handover ceremony took place at the MMA headquarters on Sunday, where the Minister of Education, Dr Ismail Shafeeu, presented the scholarships to the recipients.

The scholarship offers the opportunity to study the Executive Masters in Islamic Finance at INCEIF University in Malaysia. This program is designed to strengthen skills and knowledge in both Sharia-compliant and conventional finance, helping promote business development and socio-economic growth.

Of the 15 recipients, five have been granted fully funded scholarships, while ten received partial funding.

Developed by international experts in the field, the Executive Masters in Islamic Finance targets professionals and offers a curriculum that enhances leadership, deepens understanding of Islamic finance, and encourages positive change within institutions and communities.

The scholarship initiative is part of MMA’s broader strategy to build local capacity and support the growing Islamic finance industry in the Maldives.
