President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has started a four-day visit to Baa Atoll this morning, continuing his ongoing commitment to engage directly with island communities.
According to the President’s Office, he plans to visit all thirteen inhabited islands in the atoll during this trip. Today’s schedule includes stops at B. Kamadhoo, Kudarikilu, Kendhoo, and Eydhafushi. In the coming days, the President will also travel to Fulhadhoo, Thulhaadhoo, Dharavandhoo, Kihaadhoo, Hithaadhoo, Goidhoo, Maalhos, Fehendhoo, and Dhonfanu.
Throughout the tour, President Muizzu will meet with local councils, Women’s Development Committees, and senior members of various island institutions. He will also inaugurate development projects and announce new initiatives during the visits.
The President’s Office noted that these visits are part of his pledge to visit each inhabited island twice during his term in office. He is accompanied by cabinet ministers and heads of state-owned enterprises.
President Muizzu is expected to conclude the trip and return to Malé on Thursday. His most recent island visits were to Noonu Atoll on July 21, where he visited thirteen islands.
