Bank of Maldives (BML) has opened applications for the Start-up Grant 2025, with three grants available this year instead of two.
The additional grant is being provided to mark the 10th anniversary of BML Islamic. Each selected recipient will receive MVR 500,000 to support their business journey.
Alongside funding, BML will offer full financial advice to help recipients carry out their business plans effectively.
Both individuals and newly registered businesses can apply for the grant. Applications must be submitted via email to startup@bml.com.mv by 4pm on September 7.
“The Startup Grant is part of the Bank’s commitment to support businesses and strengthen our relationship with the start-up ecosystem in Maldives,” said BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef.
“Through the programme, we are nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit of the startup community to create jobs and opportunities to maximize positive impact for society.”
The BML Start-up Grant was first introduced in 2022.
