Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Plc (MTCC) is the nation’s leading marine and civil constructor. On Tuesday, the company signed an agreement with the Ministry of National Planning, Housing & Infrastructure for a project worth of MVR 113 million; Reclamation and Harbor Development of the island, Felivaru in Lhaviyani Atoll. Following this, yesterday, the company has been contracted to two more projects by the Ministry. A special signing ceremony was also held yesterday regarding the matter. The details of the newly assigned projects are detailed below.
Design and Build of Major Roads of Fonadhoo in Laamu Atoll (Phase 2)
This project is valued at MVR 53.99 million and will comprise work on the construction of asphalt road on a 3.64-kilo meter area and creating a natural infiltration system in addition to the installation of street lights. The project is set to be completed with 390 days.
Implementation of Shore Protection at Hoarafushi in Haa Alifu Atoll
The project cost is estimated to be MVR 6.39 million. It will comprise of work on the installation of 5 groynes of 50 meters and 1 groyne of 30 meters to protect the eroding area. This project has to be completed within 75 days.
