The first-ever Intercollege eSports Championship hosted by Ooredoo Nation concluded with strong participation and excitement across campuses.
The event featured three popular games: EA FC, PUBG Mobile, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). A total of 15 students took part in the EA FC tournament, where Villa College’s Yoosuf claimed the championship title. Zakwanfrom the University of Edinburgh was first runner-up, and Dhaain, also from Villa College, came in third.
In the PUBG Mobile category, team MNUBS emerged victorious. Villa College secured the first runner-up spot, while MNUSBS-OGS took third place.
For MLBB, team MNU claimed the championship, followed by Team MNU 2 and Villa College as runners-up.
Winners received MVR 5,000, MVR 3,000 for first runner-up, and MVR 2,000 for second runner-up in each game.
Ooredoo Nation, one of the leading gaming platforms in the Maldives, said the tournament provided a great space for students to explore eSports, build competitive skills, and form new friendships. It also highlighted the growing interest in eSports among young people in the country.
