Newly Designated President & Vice President Of The Employment Tribunal Assumes Position

Established in December 2008 pursuant to the Employment Act 2008, the Employment Tribunal of Maldives is composed of 7 members who are appointed to the post by the President of the Maldives. Amongst the 7 members, the President shall also designate two members as the President and Vice President of the Tribunal respectively.

In this regard, today, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Uza. Aminath Abdulla Zuhair as the President and Uz. Hassan Ibrahim as the Vice President of the Employment Tribunal.
Uza. Aminath Abdulla Zuhair has been serving as a member of the Tribunal since 25th March 2019. She has previously filled the position of a Legal Officer at the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and has been a legal consultant to the National Pay Commission. She completed her Masters of Laws at Kingston University, United Kingdom.

Uz. Hassan Ibrahim has been a member of the Tribunal since 16th March 2020. He has served in the capacity of director-general at the Prosecutor General’s Office earlier, in addition to also filling the post of Director at CSC. Uz. Hassan Ibrahim holds a Bachelor’s of Shari’ah and Law from the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).
