The Bank of Maldives (BML) has opened applications for its fully funded Scholarship Fund, designed to cultivate the next generation of professionals in the banking and finance sector. The scholarship is available to Maldivian students aged 18 to 25 who have completed all A-Level subjects.
Launched in 2022, the BML Scholarship Fund is part of the bank's Corporate Social Responsibility program, with a focus on developing local talent to strengthen the country’s financial sector. Selected students will have the chance to study Banking and Finance at one of the world’s top 200 universities, with the scholarship covering tuition fees, living allowances, visa fees, travel expenses, and more.
To date, nine students have received the scholarship, studying at prestigious universities in the UK and Australia.
CEO Mohamed Shareef highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating that it helps young Maldivians access world-class education and supports the sustainable growth of the nation’s banking sector.
Applications for this year’s scholarship are open until June 10.
