Ooredoo Nation Wraps Up First Inter-Resort Esports Tournament in the Maldives

Ooredoo Nation has successfully concluded the Maldives' first-ever Inter Resort Esports Tournament, marking a major milestone for the country’s growing gaming community.
The online event featured 16 teams from 10 different resorts competing in two popular mobile games—Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and PUBG Mobile. Designed for easy access, the tournament allowed players to join remotely from anywhere in the Maldives.

Joali Being took the top spot in the MLBB category, with Waldorf Astoria Maldives coming in second and Joali Being also securing third. In the PUBG Mobile bracket, Holiday Inn Kandooma Maldives claimed first place, followed by Niyama Private Island Maldives and Summer Island Maldives.
Winning teams received cash prizes, with MVR 5,000 for first place, MVR 3,000 for second, and MVR 2,000 for third.

This first-of-its-kind initiative by Ooredoo Nation highlights the rise of esports in the country. The platform aims to support the local gaming scene by offering inclusive opportunities and plans for future expansion both within the Maldives and internationally.
