Dhiraagu hosted its much-anticipated annual awards ceremony last night at Crossroads Maldives, bringing together staff, leadership, and the company’s CEO and Managing Director, Ismail Rasheed. The event recognized 96 employees for their exceptional service and contributions to the company.
A total of 53 long-serving employees were honored for their dedication over the past 10, 15, and 25 years. Their consistent efforts have played a vital role in Dhiraagu’s journey over the years.
Additionally, 42 staff were awarded for outstanding performance across various areas of the business. These included 14 Divisional Merit Awards, 11 Special Merit Awards, 15 Innovation Awards, and 2 Outstanding Leaders Awards—each highlighting remarkable work in helping drive the company forward.
The highlight of the night was the Chairperson’s Award, presented to Mohamed Shamoon Shafeeg from the Transport Network team. Shamoon was recognized for his leading role in the Domestic Submarine Cable System project, where five new cable links were deployed. He also contributed to other major infrastructure projects, including upgrades to the Maldives–Sri Lanka Cable System and SMW6 land routes.
