President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced a comprehensive plan featuring 2,130 projects aimed at addressing national challenges and improving the lives of Maldivians. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the President’s Office this morning.
The President detailed that the projects include 289 commitments from his original manifesto, 1,051 made during his campaign, 484 during island visits, and 305 at public events. These pledges cover a wide range of infrastructure and social development initiatives.
One key project involves the redevelopment of flats in Sinamale’ and Malé Hiyaa. Originally agreed upon during President Muizzu’s time as Mayor of Malé City, the initiative will now be managed by the City Council. Residents will be allowed to rebuild new flats after demolishing existing structures.
President Muizzu also highlighted the government’s focus on digital transformation. A digitalisation conference will be held on the 9th of this month to begin implementing the Maldives 2.0 project. This initiative aims to fully digitise government operations within three years, making public services more accessible and efficient.
During the press conference, the President engaged with questions from the media, underlining his commitment to transparency and inclusive governance.
