BML Launches Guesthouse Financing in Haa Alifu Atoll

Bank of Maldives (BML) has launched a new guesthouse financing product in Haa Alifu Atoll to support the growth of local businesses and the tourism sector. The official launch ceremony, held in Filladhoo, was attended by BML CEO Mohamed Shareef, Tourism Minister Thoriq Ibrahim, Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed, and senior BML officials.

During the event, Shareef emphasized that providing accessible financial solutions will create new opportunities and promote sustainable development in the atoll. The bank has enhanced its financing product by allowing guesthouses to be used as mortgage collateral, making it easier for more businesses and individuals to access funding.

In addition to the new financing product, BML has expanded its banking services by installing ATMs on seven islands in Haa Alifu Atoll, ensuring all residential islands now have ATM access. With this expansion, BML now operates 39 branches, 107 self-service banking centers, 165 ATMs, and agent banking services across 20 atolls, offering comprehensive banking solutions to communities nationwide.
