The Islamic Ministry has announced that 34 mosques in the Male’ area will host Tahajjud prayers during the last 10 days of Ramadan. The mosques include 21 in Male’, three in Vilimale’, and nine in Hulhumale’ (both Phase I and II).
Among the prominent mosques in Male’ are the Islamic Center, King Salman Mosque, and Masjid Al-Sultan Mohamed Bin Abdullah. In Hulhumale’, notable mosques include Masjid Al-Sheikh Qasim Mohamed Bin Al-Thani and Masjid Al-Ameel Jaleel. Vilimale’ mosques include Masjid Al-Salam, Masjid Al-Ikhlaas, and Masjid Al-Birri.
In addition, 23 mosques in the Male' area have been selected for i'tikaf, with 15 in Male’, five in Hulhumale’ Phase I, and two in Phase II. Since the start of Ramadan, Tharaweeh prayers have been led by young Hafizes at 24 mosques every night, allowing the community to gather in prayer and reflection during this holy month.
