Maldivian, the national carrier, is looking to expand its fleet by leasing a second Airbus A330. The airline has announced it is accepting proposals from interested parties to lease the aircraft for a five-year period. Proposals must be submitted by 23:59 hrs on March 14, 2025.
This follows the arrival of the airline’s first A330, which joined the fleet in January 2025. The aircraft currently operates flights to Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu.
In addition to its popular Chinese routes, Maldivian plans to use the A330 for European destinations. This move aligns with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s pledge to increase direct international flight services, with direct European routes set to begin by October 2025.
