The Ministry of Health has rolled out the Food Safety Program ahead of Ramadan, with inspections being conducted by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) and Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA). The inspections, taking place between 9am to 4pm, will target food stores across Male' and the islands.
The checks will focus on pest control, proper food storage, temperature regulation, and expiry dates. Inspectors will also ensure that food labeling, packaging, and storage comply with the Food Safety Act. The Ministry encourages the public to report any concerns to the MFDA or HPA.
